What is Calvin Camp?
Calvin Camp is a Christian summer camp for boys and girls entering 4th through 9th grades. Calvin Camp is sponsored by the Denver, CO area Christian Reformed Churches. Activities at camp include: Bible Study & Devotions, Music & Worship, Swimming, Frisbee Golf, Volleyball, Archery, Riflery, Arts & Crafts, Games & Activities, Hiking, Skits, and all-around fun! All activities are organized and supervised by a well-trained, dedicated, Christian Staff.
When is Calvin Camp?
Week 1: entering Grades 4, 5 & 6: Monday, July 14 – Saturday, July 19 (2024)
Week 2: entering Grades 7, 8 & 9: Monday, July 21 – Saturday, July 26 (2024)
Who can attend Calvin Camp?
Calvin Camp welcomes participants and staff of any race, color, national origin, sex, or religion with open arms and will strive to make their experience the best it can be.
How much does Calvin Camp cost?
Early Bird Registration $475
Regular Registration $525
Due to staffing, food, and lodging expenses, Calvin Camp fees are Non-Refundable. Please ensure that you can attend camp before reserving your spot, as we routinely have a waiting list!
What are the Goals of Calvin Camp?
The goal of Calvin Camp is to help each individual camper and staff member grow spiritually and personally while providing a unique Christian summer camp experience for boys and girls.
Calvin Camp also strives to ensure that all campers and staff members enjoy a safe time together, and make your week at Calvin Camp the very best experience it can possibly be.
Can I request a bunkmate?
Campers may not request a specific cabin but they may request a roommate. You may request only one roommate. Roommate requests that do not request each other in Registration will not be honored.
Can my cabin assignment be changed?
No cabin assignment information will be given out before camp begins. Preparation for Calvin Camp requires board members and staff to balance many issues and needs. Please understand that no changes to cabin assignments can be made after cabin lists are finalized.
How do I know I have successfully registered for Calvin Camp?
A confirmation that the camper has been accepted to Calvin Camp, along with the required medical and authorization forms, directions, what to bring, and other general information will be sent via e-mail, as soon as your registration is received and processed by our volunteer board. Note that this could be 48 hours after you register as our board all have full time jobs as well.
When do I need my health form and copy of immunization record completed?
Physicals need to be completed no longer than one year prior to camp date. All medical concerns may be addressed with the Camp nurse at Check-in. Immunization records and prior physicals are not retained from year to year. We are required by state law to have these records on file while the camper is here. State Law requires physicals to complete within 12 months of the first day of camp. Parental signature must be by the legal custodial parent, legal guardian, or state caseworker. Complete forms must be received by June 15, 2024.
When should I arrive at Calvin Camp?
Arrive on your starting date between 10:30 and 11:30 am. No campers are allowed in camp before 10:30. Camp is for those able to arrive on time and stay for the entire week.
When should I leave Calvin Camp?
Campers must be picked up on Saturday after 11:00 a.m. but no later than 11:30 a.m. Lunch will not be served. There will be a $25 fee for late pick-ups. Camp is for those who can arrive on time and stay for the entire week.
Where is Calvin Camp?
Calvin Camp is held at Long Scraggy Ranch near Buffalo Creek, Colorado.
Drive southwest on US 285 (Hampden Ave.) approximately 40 miles to Pine Junction. Turn left at Pine Junction on County Road 126. Drive 13 miles, passing the towns of Pine and Buffalo Creek. After Buffalo Creek, at the top of the hill, turn left at Spring Creek Trail (look for the blue “Long Scraggy Ranch” sign) Proceed one mile on the gravel road and turn left at the camp sign.
Does Calvin Camp offer Scholarships?
